Kia ora e te whānau,

We are only three weeks away from our choir performance at the Lions Christchurch Schools Music Festival on Wednesday 4th November at the Town Hall! Our choir has been working hard on the songs we will perform. We are excited to perform for whānau in this special location participating with so many other Christchurch schools.

By now families who wish to attend the performance should have organised their tickets for the event. If not, there are still limited tickets available so please make sure you don’t miss out! Our choir will be sitting on the left side of the auditorium, so please get tickets for the right side for the best view of our performing group.

You can buy tickets through the Ticketmaster Website.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE FORM BELOW giving permission for your child to attend the rehearsal on the morning of Wednesday 4th November, travelling by bus from school to and from the Town Hall and to confirm that your child will be attending the evening performance.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION for details about our rehearsal on the day of the performance and details about the performance night itself.

Morning Rehearsal
We will travel by bus to the Town Hall, leaving school at 8.45am on the morning of Wednesday 4th November.

Please ensure that your child has had a good breakfast as we will be rehearsing solidly through to 12pm when we return by bus to school. We will not bring school bags but Mrs Hope will bring a crate for drink bottles and these will be available to students if required.

Please have children arrive at school early on this day (8.30am) so we can leave on the bus promptly to be there in plenty of time to use the toilets if required and to be seated and ready for the start of the rehearsal.

Our choir will be assigned seats at this time which we will return to for the evening performance.

Let us know ASAP if your child is unable to attend the morning rehearsal but will be at the evening performance as we will need to allocate their seating accordingly.

Evening Performance
Arrival: Please have your children arrive through the main doors of the Town Hall by 6.30pm at the latest. We will have been assigned our seating at the morning rehearsal, and students may use the appropriate side staircase and door to go directly to their designated seats where the school supervisors will await their arrival and settle them in for the performance.

What to Wear/Bring: The choir are to wear their school uniform to the Town Hall to perform. It gets hot under the lights so t-shirts and shorts/culottes will be fine for the duration of the performance - please look after jerseys for your children. Shiny jewellery and watches sparkle under the lights and can distract the audience, so please also bear this in mind.

NO FOOD is permitted and NO PHONES are to be brought in by children to the performance. Water bottles may be brought and left in the labeled Spreydon School crate outside the auditorium door upstairs.

Interval: Students will remain supervised in their seats throughout the interval unless a toilet visit or a drink of water is required. Parents will NOT be able to go up and visit during the interval due to risk of congestion.

After the Performance: The concert is scheduled to finish at 9.20pm. The Town Hall foyer will be very crowded so we will gather outside on the Victoria Square side of the Town Hall (beside the Dandelion Fountain) for children to each be collected by a family member.

Please let one of the school supervisors know you have collected your child and they will be signed out to leave with you.

Thank you for your attention to these details required for the smooth running of the performance! Please direct any queries to Mrs Hope via the school office. We are really looking forward to sharing this event with you.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou,
Jenny Hope
