Exciting Property Update: New Walls for Muka & Harakeke
We have some wonderful news for our Muka and Harakeke tamariki and Kaiako! Our school has been accepted into a government pilot project to install walls into school learning spaces. During the upcoming term break, new walls will be installed in these two Learning Hubs. The spaces will still remain connected, but these additional walls will provide fantastic new flexibility for teaching and learning.
Good luck to Kākaho 3
Tu Meke to our Kākaho 3 for all their hard work this term! They have been busy learning a brand-new dance with the support of their dance teacher and Mrs Strong as part of the Dancing Like the Stars programme. We want to wish them the absolute best of luck for their upcoming performance this Thursday evening. We know you will shine on stage!
Student Leadership: New concrete games
We are incredibly proud of one of our House Leaders, Oliver, who took the initiative to apply for a Sport Canterbury grant to provide more wet play activities for our students. Thanks to his hard work, Oliver was successful in securing the funds! This grant will be used to add two-square and four-square line markings to our concrete areas, giving everyone more fantastic options for play.
Scooter Track Update: The fences will be going up soon
A huge thank you to our amazing PTA and community for your ongoing support in raising money for our new scooter track. We are thrilled to share that the construction fences will be going up in Week 11, with the exciting aim for the scooter track to be fully ready for use by the end of Week 1, Term 3!
What a fantastic way to head into the new year and celebrate the collective effort of our students, staff, and families.

Mid Year Reporting

Please make sure you book your whanau conference for either Wednesday 1st July or Thursday 2nd July. These are a follow up opportunity to discuss your child's progress and next steps.

Save the Date
Over the last few years our Library has been moved around our school site, never quite finding a permanent home. Unfortunately as we have grown, many times we have had to convert our library spaces into a Homeroom space.
In 2026 with the arrival and opening of the Kākaho block, we have been able to reestablish the Library and find a home for it.
To celebrate having a dedicated library space in 2026, we are having a book week focus for our School Birthday celebrations and much to the delight of our students, a character dress up day.
You might like to start thinking about your favourite book or book character and what you might like to wear.

Matariki
This year we are looking forward to celebrating Matariki a few days earlier this year as the Matariki public holiday falls in the July term break.
On Thursday 25th June from 5.30pm - 7pm we are welcoming all whānau to come along to our school to share some kai, participate in some Matariki activities around our learning Hubs and watch a performance by our Kapa Haka rōpu and our school band.
Over the next few weeks there will be a range of Matariki activities for tamariki to participate in during our break times. This includes kite making, Matariki Art, library storytelling and Kī o Rahi on the field.
Whanau Conferences
Don't forget to book your conference times!
On Wednesday 1st July and Thursday 2nd July we will be hosting whānau conferences for our families, students and kaiako. We look forward to these to celebrate learning that has been happening and focus on next steps.
Booking information has already been sent out this week. Please remember to book your timeslots.
Please note that appointment slots are limited.
We will be finishing lessons at 1.50pm on Wednesday 1st July to allow for us to have enough time to offer all whanau within each Homeroom to attend.
There will be supervision on Wednesday 1st July for those that require it until 3pm.
We ask that when you book you indicate if your child will be collected or require supervision until 3pm.
To ensure every student has the opportunity for a dedicated meeting, there is one interview slot allocated per student.
If your child has more than one parent or family member who wishes to attend the conference, we kindly ask that you can coordinate with one another to book a single, mutually suitable time so everyone can participate together. Thank you for your cooperation!

Last week we updated whanau of the attendance levels of their child if they have crossed over to worrying or concerning levels of attendance.
Many of these absences are holiday during term time or extended illness which means they move quickly to worrying levels of attendance with 5 more mor days absent.
On a number of attendance reports we were able to provide positive data to show an improvement from 2025.

Update about the water and roading upgrades along Lincoln Road
From Monday 22 June, we’ll begin work across the entrance of Domain Terrace which will require the closure of Domain Terrace at Lincoln Road. This will allow for the installation of new underground services along Lincoln Road, across the entrance to Domain Terrace. We’ll also be installing new wastewater infrastructure along Domain Terrace between Lincoln Road and Pony Lane.
To help reduce disruption, we’ll complete this work in two 4-week stages:
- Stage One: Closure of Domain Terrace between Lincoln Road and the entrance to Village Health Medical Centre.
- Stage Two: Closure of Domain Terrace between the entrance to Village Health Medical Centre and Pony Lane, allowing us to install new wastewater infrastructure.
For more information about these works, please see the attached work notice or visit the Isaac Construction website below:
